Da notare come le livree in uso, ed in particolare per gli elicotteri dei reparti Search And Rescue e delle Scuole di Volo, fossero ad alta visibilità, certamente più accattivanti rispetto a quelle utilizzate in seguito.

Note how the liveries in use were on high visibility, in particular for the helicopters of the Search And Rescue Units and Flight Schools, certainly more captivating than those used later.

22 Squadron – E Flight. Westland Wessex Mk2. RAF Base Manston (’70s).
Dal 1955 il reparto ha operato nel ruolo Search and Rescue, fino al 2015. Venne ricostituito nel 2020 come Operational Evaluation Unit con sede sulla RAF Base Benson.

The Squadron flew helicopters in Search and Rescue role from 1955 to 2015. In 2020 it was re-formed as an Operational Evaluation Unit on RAF Base Benson.

Con lo scioglimento del reparto venne chiusa anche la base.

Un Chinook HC2 ed un Puma HC1. Attualmente sulla base sono stanziati tre Squadrons con i Chinook.

28 Squadron. Westland Wessex HC2. Base: Kai Tak – Hong Kong.
Fu l’ultimo reparto della RAF a lasciare Hong Kong. Attualmente è equipaggiato con i Puma HC2 ed opera come Support Helicopter Operational Conversion Unit dalla base di Benson.

It was the last RAF Unit to leave Hong Kong. At present it is equipped with the Puma HC2 and is a Support Helicopter Operational Conversion Unit, base at RAF Benson.
32 (The Royal) Squadron. Base: RAF Northolt (London).
Divenne il Royal Squadron a seguito della fusione con il Queen’s Flight. Attualmente utilizza AW109SP Grand e Envoy IV CC1 (Dassault 900LX)

E’ stato l’ultimo reparto ad operare il Wessex. Attualmente ha in dotazione i Griffin HAR2 (Bell 412)

202 Squadron. Westland Sea King.
Il reparto ha operato per oltre 50 anni nel ruolo SAR Search And Rescue, ed in particolare con il Sea King dal 1978. Dal 2016 il reparto opera come Reserve Squadron per l’addestramento SAR ed utilizza elicotteri H135 JunoHT1 e H145 Jupiter HT1 , con sede sulla RAF Base Valley – Anglesey.
202 Squadron. Westland Sea King.
The Squadron was a SAR Search And Rescue for more than 50 years. From the year 1978 the Squadron has been equipped with the Sea King. From 2016 it operates as Reserve Squadron, as Search And Rescue Training Unit, equipped with H135 JunoHT1 and H145 Jupiter HT1 , based in RAF Base Valley – Anglesey.
230 (Tiger) Squadron. Westland Puma HC1. RAF Base Aldergrove.
Attualmente il reparto utilizza i Puma HC2 ed è basato sulla RAF Benson, sede di tutta la flotta Puma.
